Biography
Nathan Meister is a gay multidisciplinary visual artist and the creator behind The Anvil Bear, an independent studio specializing in digital art, laser cutting/engraving, wearable art, custom leatherwork, and jewelry; recently focusing on erotic art, highlighting gay male sexuality. Based in Columbus, Ohio, and operating out the 400 West Rich creative complex, Nathan's work spans a wide variety of media—from highly functional custom pieces to non-utilitarian wood and paint tableau.
Working extensively with a variety of materials, his work blends traditional artisanal craftsmanship with digital fabrication techniques such as precision laser engraving. With a penchant for interactive entertainment, Nathan's work often incorporates elements of illusion and live demonstration, actively challenging the boundaries between static artwork and experiential performance. Whether designing graphic 2D stencil illustrations, custom tarot character artwork, or fabricating tangible costume and club-wear pieces, his passion is rooted in creating intricate, quirky, and deeply personalized pieces for a diverse community.
